_

a man walks towards the horizon
so calm as to dribble his own step
exempt from thoughts and unrest
with no one to talk to or to rely on

another man, he hurries up a mountain
thinking how depressing it is under the sky
feeling unhappy and downcast
as the climb takes him only beyond yesterday

the two men meet one day in a desert:
"one day this desert was a forest"
"any direction i go, i´m getting closer"

then one waved goodbye in pain, the other in feast
o you, wise, who call yourselves good and clever
tell us which one you love and which one you detest

aceitou o banquete e as honrarias

a mentira, no meio da digestão da infeliz,

e, enquanto mastigava o bolo fofo,
pensava e realmente estava sentindo
_

truth had decided to become a beggar
she carried a bag of dry-bread in her hand
all because there was with her an intrigue
and she said 'yes' when 'no' was the obvious stand

lie, full of herself and traps and trolleys
offered her sister a cake in a tray of gold
truth, who believes in just about anybody,
accepted the banquet and the honors

lie, in the middle of the unfortunate's digestion,
decided to say what shed heard about her
"they say you are where you´ve always wanted to be
and between what you think and feel there's a pan"

truth believed in what she was hearing
and, as she was chewing the fluffy cake,
she was thinking and was really feeling
a longing for her hard, green, moldy bread

fui até o caos fazer uma visita
e agora estou voltando a pé

"do nada" alguém disse e eu nada
senti ou pressenti de onde saí

o caos me encontrou no meu destino
"você chegou ao lugar de que vim"
olhando-o bem vi um menino
e ele: "você é um amigo velho pra mim"
_

i went to chaos for a visit
and now i´m coming back on foot
i took a way called anyways
brain flutters, step hesitates

where do i go if i know nothing about
the place from where don´t even know i came from?
"out of nowhere" someone said and i felt
or sensed nothing from where i left

chaos found me in my destiny
"you've arrived to the place from which i came"
looking closely at him i saw a kid
and he: "to me you´re a very old friend"

_

the rich received the poor in his palace
and gave him a kingly treatment
"what do you want from me, you clown?"
said the poor, and the rich: i don't know yet

the poor got pissed off and, mute,
heard the rich was in his favor and wanted to
increase what he already had and split all
except for his dear surplus value

silence took over the conversation
and it became a subject in itself
the poor wants to be rich but wont confess it
the rich wants to be scumbag for a second

_

thin guy and fat guy met
at a hallway with space for one
fat guy shrunk and held breath
thin guy made no effort at all

before starting to barge his way in
excuse me, said fat guy, gently
thin guy tried to be friendly:
front or sideways i pass as well

one day, one night and a daybreak
they stood there in that hallway
fat guy: lets decide it fighting
thin guy: why not become actors?

_

bad luck, after losing too much time
in the casino amid chips and decks of cards
decided to get married and have a child
with luck, of whom he's now legit husband

for luck it was a magnificent wedding
as she was tired of being a beginner
with her, bad luck would be a very rich man
as long as he didn't have any lover

but in comes this lady called probability
and luck soon recognized the games by bad luck
such facts reignited their ancient rivalry
and, by her rule, he would have to pay

"bad luck, lets put the cards on the table"
said she, sure of the win she would get
"luck, by probability, i lose, its certain,
but it is in her that i will bet"

o mestre disse: feio e bonito se equivalem
tanto aqui como aquém, no além
feio e bonito se entreolharam torto
enquanto o mestre os olhava absorto

o bonito disse ao mestre, sério:
de mim advêm a beleza e o mistério
o feio, de chorar, tinha o olho vermelho:
mestre, ninguém para mim serve de espelho

a tristeza do feio e a certeza do bonito
fizeram o mestre levantar da cadeira:
vocês vivem, os dois, na mesma cadeia
vão, livres, daqui, enquanto eu reflito
_

the master said: ugly and handsome are equivalent
both here and out there, beyond
ugly and handsome glared at each other
while the master watched them, absorbed

the handsome told the master, serious:
from me comes the beauty and the mystery
the ugly, crying, had his eyes red:
master, nobody serves me as a mirror

the sadness of one and the certitude of the other
made the master rise from his chair:
you live, both of you, in the same chain
go, free, from here, while i reflect

o alegre recebeu o triste
certa tarde em seu casebre
o triste pouca coisa disse
o alegre usou de formas breves

ficaram amigos dessa forma
o triste silenciou a amargura

amanheceu, acabou a noite, o vinho
e, sozinho, ficou o alegre à mesa
enquanto o triste saía sem destino
sem nenhum resquício de tristeza
_

the happy received the sad
one afternoon in his hut
the sad little thing said
the happy used his brief ways

they became friends that way
the sad has silenced the bitterness
the happy used tenderness as a rule
between the two, the table and the dark night

the day broke, the night was over, the wine
and, alone, the happy stood at the table
while the sad one left without destination
without any trace of sadness

o amigo encontrou o inimigo

_

the friend found the enemy
at the door of the maternity ward
the friend said, "this is my son
and i dedicate him to our friendship"

the enemy, opening the door to his friend:
"i withdraw mine from our enmity"
the children changed laps on the way
and to this day they think they have their real parents

o mal foi discutir com o bem
o destino da humanidade
disse que não faria mais maldade
nem bem também

o bem lhe contou uma história triste
“bem sem mal não existe”
o mal respondeu com superioridade
“você tem complexo de inferioridade”

o bem, por bem, resolveu ser mau
"daqui pra frente sou seu igual"
_

evil went to argue with good
the destiny of mankind
said he wouldn't do any more harm
neither anything good either

good told him a sad story
"good without evil doesn't exist"
then evil replied with superiority
"you have inferiority complex"

good, for good, decided to be bad
"from now on i am your equal"

_

the avalanche prepared its fall
it architected a landscape change
left no stone above stone
in an infernal noise without a phrase

the abyss, feeling betrayed
plunged into deep depression
"this is a valley by me unknown
i no longer dominate who falls or no"

"fall into yourself," said the avalanche.
the abyss looked at himself top to bottom
and discovering his own scope
jumped "for you i get smashed down and out"

the avalanche doubted at first
but it was already rolling on another cliff

*

“sou o destino, muito prazer
você parece um pouco abatido”
“estava assim por você
mesmo sem nunca ter te conhecido”

o destino, que não bateu à porta
fatalmente ficou comovido
o acaso, sem querer, foi embora
tomando rumo desconhecido

o destino pensou: “é minha culpa
eu é que o faço inesperado
preciso deste cara como dupla”
e desviou do seu rumo por acaso
_

"i am destiny, it's a pleasure
you look a little dejected"
"i was like this for you
even without ever meeting you"

destiny, who didn't knock on the door
was fatally moved
and chance accidentally left
taking an unknown course

destiny thought: "it's my fault
i do the unexpected
i need this guy as my pair"
and deviated so as to meet chance

o sol, sonolento, guardou raios, chama
choveu sobre a chuva e voltou maio
_

there was a sun in the sky of may
when june, abrupt, came
brought thunder, cold and swap it
was the reverse of perceiving it

suddenly, everything fused into rain
monolithic, in the clouds, the sun paro
xitone: "rainbow isn't a color, its a curve"
rain and sun have a rare encounter

"when night falls, sun, i'm sovereign
said stop to rain to the flame with eye in bolt
the sun, sleepy, kept rays, flame
rained over the rain and came back may

“tanto faz o que fiz
que cada vez faço mais”
pensou o gênio, feliz
alheio em meio aos demais

“eu fazendo ou não, tanto faz”
zurrou o burro olhando as botas

e empacou espetacularmente no caminho

_

"no matter what i did
that every time i do more"
thought the genius, happy
remote amid the rest

"doing it or not, it doesn't matter"
brayed the donkey looking at the boots
of his master foreman
that he carried every day on its back

"if he has paws, why doesn't he walk by himself?"
the donkey thought for the first time in his life
and packed spectacularly on the way
making the journey of the genius one of no return or going:

"interesting, i don't feel any change in the landscape
all nature has become the tree in front
this seems to be the end of my trip"
and the two remained there until forever

um homem extremamente nervoso
encontrou no bar um homem muito calmo
simpático, o calmo foi generoso
e cedeu-lhe um lugar a seu lado

o nervoso contou sua vida
com detalhes inimagináveis
entre um e outro gole de bebida
o calmo bebeu doses incontáveis

os dois, abraçados, já cantavam
quando surgiu um terceiro no balcão
tentou falar, mas eles não se acalmavam
tentou brigar, mas veio outra canção
_

an extremely nervous man
found a very calm man in a bar
nice, the calm was generous
and gave him a place by his side

the nervous told his life
with unimaginable details
between one and another sip of drink
the calm drank countless doses

the two of them, hugging each other, were already singing
when a third man appeared at the counter
he tried to speak, but they did not calm down
he tried to fight, but another song came

“é simples, complicado, seja simples.
simples: não seja complicado
acha complicado ser simples
simplesmente seja complicado”

“simplesmente? não é simples!
quem pensa assim simplesmente
não pensa assim por ser simples
pensa por não pensar simplesmente”
_

"it's simple, complicated, be simple.
simple: don't be complicated
do you find it complicated to be simple
simply be complicated"

"simply? its not simple!
who thinks so simply
doesn't think so for being simple
he thinks for not thinking simply"
